1.0 THE OPEN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA (OUT)
The Open University of Tanzania (OUT) is a public university established by Act No. 17 of 1992. Since 1st January 2007 the University has been operating under the OUT Charter (Inc.) of 2007 in line with the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005.
OUT’s mission is to provide relevant, quality, flexible, accessible, and affordable open online education, research and service for socio-economic development of Tanzania and beyond. OUT operates from its headquarters in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, with 32 regional centres across Tanzania Mainland and Coordination Centres in Unguja and Pemba (Zanzibar).
The University invites competent and qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following positions:
1.1 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (SOCIAL WORK) – 1 POST
Work Station: Mtwara Regional Centre
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undergo a Master’s Degree training programme.
- Undertake a pedagogical induction course (where applicable).
- Understudy senior academic staff through lectures, seminars and practical training.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars and practical sessions.
- Assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by relevant authorities.
Qualification and Experience: Bachelor Degree in Social Work with a minimum GPA of 3.8/5 from a recognised university.

1.2 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (PSYCHOLOGY) – 1 POST
Work Station: Handeni Coordination Centre
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychology, BSc Counselling Psychology or BA Psychology with minimum GPA 3.8/5.

1.3 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (HISTORY) – 1 POST
Work Station: Headquarters – Dar es Salaam
Qualifications: BA History, History & Archaeology, BA with Education (History) or BEd (History) with minimum GPA 3.8/5.

1.4 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT) – 1 POST
Work Station: Arusha Regional Centre
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management with GPA 3.8/5.

1.5 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (ECONOMICS & STATISTICS) – 1 POST
Work Station: Headquarters – Dar es Salaam
Qualifications: Degree in Economics & Statistics, Economics & Applied Statistics, BA Economics & Statistics or BSc Economics & Statistics. GPA 3.8/5.

1.6 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (FINANCE & ACCOUNTS) – 1 POST
Work Station: Kahama Coordination Centre
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accounts. GPA 3.8/5.

1.7 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (CYBERSECURITY) – 1 POST
Work Station: Headquarters – Dar es Salaam
Qualifications: BSc in Cybersecurity. GPA 3.8/5.

Qualifications: BSc in Textile Design & Technology. GPA 3.8/5.

Qualifications: Applied Physics, BSc with Education (Physics) or Electronics Engineering. GPA 3.8/5.

1.10 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT) – 1 POST
Work Station: Rukwa Regional Centre
Qualifications: Degrees such as Education Policy Management, BBA with Education, Educational Management & Administration. GPA 3.8/5.

1.11 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION) – 1 POST
Work Station: Arusha Regional Centre
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education. GPA 3.8/5.

Qualifications: LLB with GPA 3.8/5.

2.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS
- Applicants must be Tanzanians aged not above 45 years (except those in public service).
